come join our growing team
The Good Partnership values the contributions that individuals who identify as members of marginalized or oppressed communities bring to our company, and we encourage those people to apply. We recognize that structural barriers shape experiences and job qualifications, and therefore we seek to use employment equity to differentiate between candidates who meet the required qualifications. We encourage people to apply even if they feel that the position would be a stretch.
fundraising coordinator - summer 2020 intern
You'll be supporting our team with hands-on fundraising for a number of our clients. This requires fundraising strategic oversight (we'll help train you on that) as well as the ability to execute on all the small details that make our work stand-out. Our consultancy is unique in that we focus on implementation - getting all the little things done. Organizations hire us instead of hiring in-house.
You are a fundraising generalist who is eager to learn and has a passion for social justice and small nonprofits in Canada. You are at the beginning of your fundraising career but you have a natural talent for it and you don't want to be stuck in an administrative position. You want to get hands-on experience and learn from an amazing team of colleagues. You're a hard worker who is ambitious and wants to develop a range of experience in fundraising.
Your work will vary by client, but you will have the opportunity to implement all types of fundraising strategies. You will also be a relationship management superstar, making our clients feel amazing about working with us. You are an implementor - no job is too small and the details are important.
We are a fun and hard-working team that builds in time-off and meaningful breaks. We value you and your contributions to the company and our clients.
This is a summer internship with an honorarium of $2,000. We are a ROWE (Results Only Work Environment) organization, we manage to outcomes, not time spent at your desk. We will prioritize applications from BIPOC. Understanding the financial barriers to participating in an internship, we will accommodate schedules to allow for other work.
Flexible working hours and location. Our office is in downtown Toronto. We have a strong commitment to helping you grow and learn.
We are committed to action-learning and foster an environment of experimentation and professional development.
To be a great fit for this role you are:
Early in your career and excited to learn;
A passionate fundraiser with a panache for managing relationships;
Experience managing projects, programs, products or events;
Connected to the charitable sector either through work experience, volunteer experience or as a regular and committed donor
A futurist - you’re not just thinking about what works now, but love to imagine how things will work five years from now
Nimble and adaptive, ready to adjust to emerging opportunities and priorities, working quickly and accurately.
Nothing stands in your way! If there is something that needs to get done, you step up and do it.
Fill in our application form to apply for the position. We are looking for applications that stand out and show your personality. While we expect a cover letter and resume, you can make them creative! This is a rolling posting - so we will review applications as they come in until the position is filled.
The Good Partnership is a small, but mighty, Toronto-based consultancy focused on helping small nonprofits do more with less. What sets us apart is that we don’t just provide strategy and coaching for our charity clients, we actually implement the work. We’re not in the business of defining a strategy and walking away, rather we become our clients’ partner - helping to manage their day-to-day needs.
Instead of hiring a member of staff, our clients depend on us for their goals. We build the strategy, develop the tactical plan, and most importantly, we implement that plan.
Still in the start-up phase of the business, we are looking for hard-working, ambitious staff members who want to get hands-on experience with meaningful coaching to build their careers, but who are okay with a bit of flexibility, ambiguity, and instability with work.
what it's like to work here
Our team is small but mighty and every day is different! We focus on making sure our clients have success with their fundraising and also that they have an amazing experience with our company.
We operated on a Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) - where the focus is on getting the work done. That means flexible work hours and location. However, we work hard in service to our clients. We also aim to work smart and love productivity and collaboration.
We offer ongoing learning and coaching, with a special emphasis on hands-on learning. We’ll give you projects that will help you grow and provide space to learn within your work (including learning from mistakes).
Small charities are the backbone of the nonprofit sector in Canada, yet so few resources exist to help them grow in a consistent, meaningful way. It’s not about the ideas - there are plenty of those. We focus on implementation, addressing the number one constraint small charities site as a barrier to their success - TIME. Our goal is to uplift and empower small charities and help them do more of what they do best - change the world.
